BVOT Group launches aviation safety program for students near Noi Bai Airport

BVOT Group, supported by the Ministry of Construction’s Department of Transport and Traffic Safety, has launched the ‘Peaceful Skies’ program to raise aviation safety awareness among students living near restricted flight zones. The initiative began at Trung Gia High School in Hanoi, where approximately 2,000 students participated in activities designed to educate them on the risks posed to aircraft by unauthorized activities.

Participants learned to identify hazards such as flying kites, releasing balloons or sky lanterns, using drones and flycams without permits, and pointing high-powered lasers at aircraft. The program aims to mitigate the growing issue of unauthorized drone incursions. Reports indicate that in 2025, 34 UAV incursions were recorded at airports in Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, and Ho Chi Minh City, while the first half of 2026 saw 17 more incidents across several provinces.

In one specific instance on June 6, 2026, drone activity near Noi Bai International Airport disrupted 28 flights, forcing 8 departures to delay and 20 arrivals to enter holding patterns. As part of the program, students at Trung Gia High School signed commitments to comply with aviation safety regulations to help protect the airspace surrounding Noi Bai.
