By the Wye glamping site named a UK favourite small business

By the Wye, a family-run glamping business based in Hay-on-Wye, has been named one of the UK’s ‘Nation’s Favourite Businesses’ as part of the Small Business Saturday campaign.

Founded in 2020 by Stephen Salter and Dawn Farnworth, the business provides off-grid, sustainable accommodation via six safari tents situated within 10 acres of ancient woodland overlooking the River Wye. The founders established the venture after being inspired by unique nature-based stays encountered during cycling trips in Europe.

The Small Business Saturday campaign, originally launched by American Express in the US in 2010, aims to promote independent businesses and encourage local shopping. The selected businesses will be featured in the lead-up to the official Small Business Saturday event on December 5.
