Bybit appoints Sean Ballard as Head of Derivatives and Institutional Business

Bybit, the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has appointed Sean Ballard as the Head of Derivatives and Institutional Business. Ballard will be responsible for strengthening the exchange’s trading infrastructure, risk frameworks, and institutional capabilities, with additional oversight of trading risk and exchange technology.

Ballard joins Bybit from Jump Trading, where he led the high-frequency futures trading business across the US, EMEA, and LATAM. He brings over 25 years of experience in global financial markets, including expertise in derivatives, high-frequency trading, and market structure. His role at Bybit will focus on advancing the institutional trading experience through scalable product development and disciplined risk management as digital assets continue to converge with global financial markets.
