BYD and GWM announce new vehicle models in China

BYD has officially launched the 2027 Seal 06 DM-i in China. The plug-in hybrid sedan is available in six variants, with prices ranging from 99,900 to 141,900 yuan. Depending on the battery capacity, the model offers an electric-only range of up to 320 km (CLTC). When fully charged and fueled, the vehicle can achieve a total range of up to 2,370 km, with fuel efficiency reaching approximately 36.3 to 38.6 km per liter when the battery is low.

Separately, Great Wall Motor (GWM) has filed registration details for the Wey V9X, a flagship 6-seat luxury electric SUV, with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The all-electric version features dual motors producing a combined maximum power of 734 hp and a top speed of 220 km/h. It utilizes NMC lithium-ion batteries supplied by Svolt Energy. The V9X series, which previously saw the launch of plug-in hybrid versions, is expected to expand its lineup to include full-hybrid and pure electric models within 2026.
