Tesla and Chinese automakers report mixed Q3 market performance

Tesla reported third-quarter vehicle deliveries of 486,532 units, a 2.1% decrease compared to the previous year, though the figure exceeded market expectations. The company's energy deployment also grew, reaching 13.7 GWh in the third quarter.

In the Taiwan market, Tesla achieved significant growth in September, with registrations increasing 212.7% year-on-year. The Model Y became the top-selling vehicle in Taiwan for the month. Additionally, Taiwan's overall motorcycle market saw a 16.78% increase in September, totaling 70,189 registrations.

In China, the automotive market showed a divergence between overall retail trends and top-tier manufacturers. While total passenger vehicle retail saw a year-on-year decline, major companies like BYD, Geely, and Chery reported strong sales. BYD specifically recorded 463,561 new energy vehicle sales in September, supported by significant growth in overseas markets.
