BYD Atto 3 Yuan Plus receives 30,000 Chinese orders in a week
BYD launched the third‑generation Atto 3, marketed in China as the Yuan Plus, on 21 May 2026. The new model is built on the e‑Platform 3.0 Evo and uses second‑generation Blade lithium‑iron‑phosphate batteries of 57.5 kWh or 68.5 kWh, delivering a CLTC range of 540 km and 630 km respectively. A flash‑charging system can raise the battery from 10 % to 97 % in about nine minutes. The vehicle measures 4 665 mm × 1 895 mm × 1 675 mm with a 2 770 mm wheelbase, and is priced from 119 800 yuan (≈ 120 000 yuan). Within its first week on the market, BYD recorded more than 30 000 orders, a sharp jump from only 5 111 orders in April. The surge reflects strong consumer demand for the extended range, rapid charging and competitive pricing, after the previous Atto 3 generation saw declining sales in China despite global sales exceeding 1.1 million units across 116 markets.
The high order volume signals renewed momentum for BYD’s electric‑vehicle line in its home market and underscores the appeal of its upgraded technology platform and battery solution.
