BYD Denza expands premium presence in Hong Kong and India

BYD’s premium brand, Denza, is expanding its footprint in the Asia-Pacific luxury electric vehicle market with significant launches in Hong Kong and India.

In Hong Kong, Denza launched the Z9GT grand tourer on October 23, 2026. Priced at HK$998,000 ($127,240), the Z9GT is the first luxury model in the region to feature BYD’s flash charging technology and second-generation Blade Battery. Built on a 1,000-volt platform, the vehicle boasts a peak output of 850 kW (1,140 hp) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. The company claims the car can reach a 70% charge in 5 minutes and a 97% charge in 9 minutes.

In India, Denza is scheduled to make its official debut on November 13, 2026. While the specific lineup is unconfirmed, the D9 luxury MPV and Z9 GT shooting brake are expected to lead the brand’s entry into the market. The brand, which is now fully owned by BYD, aims to compete with established luxury manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi. Initial entries in India are expected to arrive as fully imported Completely Built Units (CBU).
