BYD develops new ultra-luxury models and hybrid SUVs

BYD is expanding its automotive portfolio with new developments in both the ultra-luxury and hybrid SUV segments. Test vehicles for two new models, a large sedan and an SUV, have been spotted under heavy camouflage. While no formal announcement has been made, market speculation suggests these vehicles will be released under Yangwang, BYD’s dedicated ultra-luxury division.

The luxury prototypes feature design elements reminiscent of high-end European brands, such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The sedan utilizes a classic three-volume format with a long wheelbase and a flat roof, while the SUV focuses on urban comfort. Notable features include the potential use of coach doors and a reinforced chassis to support the battery structure.

Additionally, BYD has registered patent images for the Sealion 07 DM-i in China. This model is a redesigned version of the Frigate 07, featuring a plug-in hybrid motor capable of producing up to 476 hp. The redesign includes a new visual identity with C-shaped LED headlights and a more streamlined front bumper design.
