BYD enters top five in South Korean automotive satisfaction survey
In a recent annual automotive product satisfaction survey conducted by Consumer Insight in South Korea, Chinese automaker BYD entered the top five, surpassing major brands such as Hyundai and Kia.
Volvo Cars maintained its first-place position for the seventh consecutive year with 852 points, followed closely by Lexus with 851 points. Toyota and Tesla secured the third and fourth positions, respectively.
BYD achieved fifth place with 829 points. Notably, the brand ranked first in the economic efficiency category, scoring over 10 percentage points above the industry average. This indicates high consumer satisfaction regarding vehicle price and maintenance costs.
While Volvo led in exterior design, interior, and safety, the survey highlighted industry-wide vulnerabilities in economic efficiency and operating systems. The results suggest a tightening competition among top-tier brands as consumer priorities shift toward economic value.
