BYD expands Asian lineup with ATTO 2 in Japan and ATTO 1 in Hong Kong

BYD is expanding its vehicle lineup in key Asian markets with the introduction of new models. In Japan, the compact SUV ATTO 2 (known as Yuan UP in China) has been spotted at Yokohama's Daikoku Pier, signaling its upcoming arrival. BYD plans to launch the ATTO 2 as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) alongside the Seal 6 station wagon at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2026. The ATTO 2 is designed to be compact enough for Japanese urban environments and mechanical parking structures, featuring a width of 1830 mm.

Simultaneously, the BYD ATTO 1 has made its debut in Hong Kong. This all-electric compact hatchback is built on the e-Platform 3.0 and is aimed at young drivers and small families. The ATTO 1 features a 38.88 kWh Blade Battery, providing an NEDC range of 380 km. It offers a single-motor front-wheel-drive setup with 55 kW of power and is positioned as an entry-level model in the Ocean series.
