Denza Z electric supercar unveiled at Goodwood with up to 1,600 hp and ultra‑fast charging

BYD’s premium Denza brand launched the Denza Z electric supercar at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The flagship model uses a three‑motor all‑wheel‑drive layout that delivers between 1,582 hp and 1,604 hp, 1,240 Nm of torque and a 0‑100 km/h sprint in roughly 2.2 seconds. Two road‑going versions – a Coupe and a Spider – are priced from about £142,900 (€168 k) in the UK, while a track‑focused Racing variant claims a 350 km/h top speed and a 1.96‑second 0‑100 run. A future Special Edition is said to exceed 2,000 hp. Power comes from a 76 kWh second‑generation Blade battery; BYD’s Flash‑Charging system can raise the state of charge from 10 % to 70 % in five minutes and to 97 % in nine minutes. Deliveries are slated for the UK and other European markets later this year, with pre‑orders already opened for Brazil, where the model is expected to arrive before year‑end. The launch signals BYD’s push into the high‑performance luxury EV segment, challenging established names such as Porsche and Mercedes‑AMG with a combination of extreme power and rapid recharging.
