BYD expands Japanese dealership network with new locations in Kitakyushu and Okinawa

The electric vehicle brand BYD is expanding its retail presence in Japan with the opening of two new authorized dealership locations in late 2026.

BYD AUTO Kitakyushu is scheduled to open on August 22, 2026, in Tobata Ward, Kitakyushu City. Located along the Tobata Bypass, the facility will feature a showroom displaying four new vehicles and will be staffed by specialists trained through the ‘BYD Academy’ to provide both sales and technical service.

In Okinawa, BYD AUTO Okinawa will open on September 5, 2026, in Tomigusuku City. Operated by D&D Import Japan, this location will serve as the prefecture's first official dealership, featuring a showroom and a dedicated service workshop. The site will showcase various models, including the BYD RACCO mini EV and the SEALION 6 hybrid SUV.
