BYD and Lexus expand luxury market reach
Automotive and luxury lifestyle developments include BYD expanding its premium reach through the Yangwang brand. Prototypes for a new ultra-luxury sedan, featuring coach doors and advanced LiDAR sensors, suggest a move to compete with brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Additionally, BYD has registered the M9 premium PHEV MPV in Indonesia, a vehicle capable of traveling over 1,000 kilometers.
In the maritime sector, Lexus has launched international sales for its LY680 luxury yacht. Following the success of the LY650, the LY680 features an extended flybridge and swimming platform, measuring approximately 21 meters. The yacht is expected to appear at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in late October 2026.
In Indonesia, various public services are active. Mobile SIM card renewal services (SIM Keliling) and vehicle tax services (Samsat Keliling) are operating across Jakarta, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and Yogyakarta. In Yogyakarta, Trans Jogja public transit routes are available for commuters traveling between Malioboro and Lempuyangan Station.
