BYD expands presence in China and Hong Kong with new models and flagship facility
BYD is expanding its presence in both mainland China and Hong Kong through new product launches and infrastructure commitments. In China, the company has released official interior images for the Han, a flagship sedan in the Dynasty 9 series, with pre-sale prices starting at 249,900 yuan. The vehicle features a high-tech cabin with zero-gravity seats and a CLTC range of up to 1,008km for its pure electric version.
In Hong Kong, BYD partner Harmony Auto has launched the M9 DM-i luxury 7-seat plug-in hybrid MPV and the Atto 1 entry-level electric hatchback. The M9 DM-i, which offers a combined range exceeding 1,000km, has an introductory price starting at HK$428,800. The Atto 1 is positioned for young drivers and small families with an estimated price of HK$169,360.
To support these operations, Harmony Auto has renewed its lease for a massive flagship showroom and after-sales service center at the San Sang Kowloon Bay Cargo Centre in East Kowloon. The facility covers over 90,000 square feet and carries a monthly rent of approximately HK$1.13 million, signaling a long-term commitment to the Hong Kong electric vehicle market despite broader commercial property adjustments.
