BYD Indonesia expands school‑support programme linked to each car sale

BYD Motor Indonesia announced that every vehicle it sells will fund school‑related needs for children across the country. The initiative, part of the company's "Small Steps for Tomorrow" corporate‑social‑responsibility programme, aims to reach 45 cities and has already provided shoes, bags and other supplies to 12 schools in areas such as Bekasi, Bogor, Depok, Serang, Semarang, Kediri, Bali and Lampung.

The rollout was marked by a launch event at Plataran Hutan Kota GBK in Jakarta, attended by Deputy Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Dr. Fajar Riza Ul Haq. BYD tied the expansion to the introduction of its M6 DM model in Indonesia. The Chinese EV maker also noted a global education fund of 3 billion RMB for universities, museums and youth programmes in China, underscoring its broader commitment to youth development.

Through the "Every Vehicle Sold, One Step for a Better Future" pledge, BYD seeks to combine business growth with tangible social impact for Indonesian students.
