BYD King hybrid sedan launched in Mexico with claimed 1,680 km combined range

BYD introduced the updated BYD King 2027 hybrid sedan in Mexico, offering two trims – GL and GS – with a limited‑edition price for the first 2,500 units. The model features a redesigned exterior with full‑LED headlights, a new front grille, 17‑inch alloy wheels and a larger 522‑liter trunk. Inside, it includes a rotating touchscreen (12.8‑inch on the GL and up to 15.6‑inch on the GS), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a voice assistant called “Hi BYD”, wireless charging, NFC access and smart start. BYD claims the car can travel up to 1,680 km combined (170 km electric‑only) and achieve 27.39 km/L fuel consumption, figures measured under the NEDC laboratory cycle. It also offers VTOL (Vehicle‑to‑Load) capability to power external devices. The announced specifications have prompted discussion about how they compare to real‑world driving conditions in Mexico.
