BYD King sedan facelift slated for Brazil launch in 2027
Chinese automaker BYD is preparing to introduce the refreshed BYD King hybrid sedan to the Brazilian market, with production planned at its Camaçari plant in Bahia. The facelift features a completely redesigned front fascia with slimmer headlights, an integrated bumper and new light signatures, while the rear receives subtle updates. Inside, the cabin has a new circular‑button console, horizontal trim lines, larger ventilation outlets and upgraded door panels. Higher‑spec versions will offer touchscreen displays up to 15.6 inches, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and fast‑charging capability of up to 48 kW. The plug‑in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5 L gasoline engine with a 24.57 kWh battery, delivering an electric‑only range of about 170 km and a combined range of up to 1,680 km. Pricing is expected to start around R$ 173 000, matching the current market positioning of the model. The BYD King has already been launched in Mexico and other Latin‑American markets, and its arrival in Brazil is anticipated to strengthen BYD’s presence in the region's midsize sedan segment.
