BYD Korea begins deliveries of Sea Lion 6 DM-i hybrid SUV
BYD Korea has officially commenced customer deliveries of the Sea Lion 6 DM-i, a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV. The first vehicle was delivered to GS Global, a long-standing partner that manages the supply of BYD electric buses in South Korea.
The Sea Lion 6 DM-i utilizes BYD’s proprietary DM-i (Dual Mode-intelligent) technology, which prioritizes electric motor propulsion for daily driving while utilizing an internal combustion engine for long-distance efficiency and charging. The vehicle is equipped with an 18.3kWh Blade Battery, providing a certified electric-only range of up to 70km. It also supports 18kW DC fast charging and the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, allowing users to power external electronic devices with up to 3.3kW of electricity.
Positioned as a high-value option, the model is priced at 37.5 million KRW. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch center display, and a panoramic glass roof. The vehicle aims to bridge the gap between the efficiency of electric vehicles and the convenience of traditional long-range internal combustion engines.
