BYD launches new plug-in hybrid models in Greece and the UK
BYD is expanding its presence in the European market, highlighted by its participation in the Auto Athina 2026 exhibition in Greece. The company is introducing several new models to the Greek market, most notably the Dolphin G DM-i, a plug-in hybrid B-segment hatchback. This model features Super Hybrid DM technology, offering an electric-only range of up to 105 km and a total range exceeding 1,000 km.
Other premieres at the exhibition include the Denza Z9GT, a premium shooting brake from BYD’s Denza brand, the updated BYD Seal electric sedan, and the BYD Shark, a plug-in hybrid pickup truck. BYD has reported significant growth in Greece, ranking first in sales for battery electric vehicles (BEV), plug-in hybrids (PHEV), and new energy vehicles (NEV) between January and August 2026.
In the United Kingdom, BYD has also launched the Dolphin G DM-i, marking it as the country’s first plug-in hybrid supermini. The vehicle is positioned as a solution for drivers seeking lower running costs and extended range compared to pure electric vehicles, with prices starting at £23,990.
