BYD launches Dolphin G DM-i plug‑in hybrid in European B‑segment

Chinese automaker BYD introduced the Dolphin G DM-i, the first plug‑in hybrid positioned in the European B‑segment (cars such as the Opel Corsa and Volkswagen Polo). The model combines a 1.5‑litre, 95 hp gasoline engine with a 120 hp electric motor, delivering a total output of 212 hp and a WLTP‑tested electric range of up to 105 km, depending on the 18.3 kWh battery; a reduced‑size 7.4 kWh pack offers about 40 km.

Pricing starts at €19,990 for the base “Active” version in Austria, with higher‑spec “Boost”, “Comfort” and “Sport” trims costing up to €26,490.
