BYD launches Great Han electric sedan with ultra-fast charging
BYD has launched the Great Han, a flagship electric sedan in China, featuring its second-generation Blade Battery. The vehicle offers a range of up to 1,008 km (CLTC) for rear-wheel-drive versions and 880 km for all-wheel-drive models. Prices in China start at approximately 235,900 yuan (around $35,000).
A major technological highlight is the integration of Flash Charging technology. This system allows the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in just five minutes and from 10% to 97% in nine minutes under normal conditions. The technology is designed to remain efficient even in extreme cold, with charging times increasing by only three minutes at -30°C.
BYD is also expanding this technology globally. In Indonesia, the company has introduced the second-generation Blade Battery and Flash Charging capabilities to the local market. In Europe, the technology is expected to debut in the Atto 8, a large seven-seater SUV, with sales projected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
