BYD launches pre‑sale of Denza Z9S luxury electric sedan with up to 1,100 km range

Chinese automaker BYD has opened pre‑sales for the Denza Z9S, the flagship model of its premium Denza brand. The electric sedan is equipped with a second‑generation 102.3 kWh Blade battery and claims a CLTC‑tested range of up to 1,100 km (about 680 miles) on a single charge. Power output varies by version, from 496 hp in the entry model to 1,200 hp in the top‑spec variant, and three trim levels are offered.

The base price is set at 319,800 yuan, roughly €41,000, positioning the Z9S as a relatively affordable option in the luxury EV segment. BYD aims to challenge established premium brands such as Mercedes‑Benz, Tesla and Lucid with the combination of long range, high performance and premium features. German coverage notes that the CLTC figure translates to about 850 km under the WLTP standard used in Europe, still placing the Z9S ahead of current European competitors.
