BYD launches Shark pickup for Polish market, hybrid 435 hp, 0‑100 km/h in 5.7 s

Chinese automaker BYD announced that its new Shark pickup will be added to the European lineup and offered in Poland. The model will use a hybrid drivetrain producing 435 kW (approximately 435 hp) and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.

The Shark will be the brand’s first pickup in Europe. BYD’s Polish range currently includes ten models, and the company expects the Shark to become the eleventh. BYD’s sales in Poland have risen sharply, with a 224 % increase in new car registrations in the first five months of 2026, making BYD the 20th‑largest brand in the country.

A European launch is planned for July 2026, though the exact Polish market entry date has not been confirmed.
