BYD launches updated ATTO 3 EX SUV in Japan

BYD Auto Japan has launched the updated ATTO 3 EX, a significant refresh of its middle-size SUV lineup. The new model introduces two configurations: a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version and a new All-Wheel Drive (AWD) version.

The RWD model offers an increased driving range of up to 620km (WLTC mode), up from the previous 470km, thanks to an expanded 74.88kWh Blade Battery. The AWD model delivers 330kW of maximum output and 560Nm of torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100km/h in 4.0 seconds.

Technical upgrades include the transition from Cell to Pack (CTP) to BYD’s proprietary Cell to Body (CTB) technology, which integrates the battery into the vehicle structure to improve body rigidity and cabin space. Safety features have been enhanced with a reinforced sensor suite for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), a driver monitoring system, and a child presence detection system.

Convenience features include a 95L front trunk, seat ventilation, and a built-in refrigerator in the AWD model. Prices start at 4,378,000 yen for the RWD model and 4,873,000 yen for the AWD model.
