BYD Leads China June Auto Sales and Announces New D‑Class Sedan

In June 2026, BYD topped China’s automotive retail sales, delivering 224,478 vehicles and a 14.0% share of the overall market. Among new‑energy manufacturers, BYD led with a 22.3% share, selling 224,478 units. The domestic passenger‑car market recorded 1.602 million units, down 23.2% year‑on‑year but up 6.1% month‑on‑month, while new‑energy vehicles accounted for 62.8% of sales and exports, with renewable‑energy models comprising 57% of overseas shipments.

At the same time, BYD revealed its first D‑class flagship sedan, the “Da Han.” The model measures 5,256 mm × 1,999 mm × 1,510 mm with a 3,130 mm wheelbase. It will be offered in pure‑electric and plug‑in hybrid versions. The electric variant delivers 370 kW (single‑motor) or a dual‑motor setup of 200 kW / 370 kW, powered by a 102.3 kWh battery, while the hybrid pairs a 1.5 L engine with a 200 kW electric motor and a 54.5 kWh battery.
