BYD M6 dual‑mode MPV achieves 144 km per litre record in Bandung test

In a series of dual‑mode (DM) trials on a 150‑km circuit that combined toll roads, industrial zones, steep climbs and long descents, BYD's M6 DM recorded a fuel consumption of 144 km per litre in Bandung, far exceeding BYD’s internal simulation of 65 km per litre. The average battery draw across eleven test units was 12.1‑13.2 kWh, with fuel usage averaging 1.96 litres.

At the 2026 Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) in Tangerang, BYD Motor Indonesia unveiled the latest BYD M6 EV alongside the M6 DM, reinforcing its strategy to offer both pure‑electric and plug‑in hybrid options in the Indonesian market. President Director Eagle Zhao highlighted Indonesia as a strategic market, noting a national new‑energy‑vehicle share above 22 % and sales of more than 26 000 units (about 35 % of NEV sales) in the first half of 2026. Over 4 000 orders for the M6 DM have been secured, and the company now operates more than 100 sales and service points across the country.
