BYD may launch first Ocean lineup MPV by year-end

BYD may launch the first multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) under its Ocean lineup by the end of the year. Zhang Zhuo, general manager of the Ocean lineup sales division, described the upcoming model as a ‘one-of-a-kind offering’ in the market.

While specific details regarding the name, pricing, or technical specifications have not been released, the vehicle may draw inspiration from the Ocean-V concept unveiled at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. That concept featured unique capabilities, including off-road potential, camping modes with reclining seats, and an integrated entertainment system with a retractable steering wheel and dashboard screen.

This expansion follows BYD’s existing MPV offerings, such as the Xia from the Dynasty lineup and the D9 from the Denza sub-brand.
