BYD opens pre-orders for second-generation Seagull electric hatchback

BYD has opened pre-orders for the second generation of its Seagull electric hatchback, also referred to as the Atto 1. The new model features a larger body compared to its predecessor, with a length of 4,205 mm, representing a 425 mm increase.

Technical specifications for the new generation include a 95 kW electric motor and two battery options: 30 kWh and 39.2 kWh. Depending on the battery capacity, the vehicle is expected to offer a range of 320 to 420 km under the CLTC standard, or approximately 262 to 344 km under the WLTP standard.

In China, the model is expected to be priced under 100,000 yuan (approximately $14,000–$15,000 USD). Consumers can secure the vehicle through the BYD application with a deposit. The updated model aims to compete with vehicles such as the Geely EX2 and features improvements in interior luxury, driving assistance systems, and cabin equipment.
