BYD expands EV lineup with micro-cars, supercars, and charging infrastructure

BYD is expanding its global electric vehicle portfolio through new technology and high-performance models. The company is repurposing its X-Pack technology, originally developed for the Racco kei car in Japan, to create compact, affordable micro-EVs for the European market. This X-Pack system integrates the inverter and other electrical components directly into the battery pack, maximizing cabin space and improving crash safety by freeing up the front compartment.

In the high-performance segment, the Denza Z electric supercar has arrived at dealerships in China, with a commercial launch expected in late 2026. The vehicle features three electric motors and is positioned to compete with premium brands like Porsche and Lamborghini. In Brazil, BYD has also revealed the Mako, a plug-in hybrid monocoque ute designed to rival models like the Ford Maverick.

Additionally, BYD has reached a milestone in its charging infrastructure, surpassing 10,000 Flash Charging stations across 320 cities in China. This technology, paired with the second-generation Blade Battery, allows for rapid charging, reaching 70% capacity in approximately five minutes.
