BYD Sealion 5 pre-orders begin in Vietnam with expected price of 800 million VND

BYD dealers in Vietnam have begun accepting early deposits for the Sealion 5 DM-i, a plug-in hybrid SUV. The vehicle is expected to be a significant sales driver for the brand in the Vietnamese market due to its placement in a highly competitive segment.

Expected pricing for the Sealion 5 is estimated at over 700 million VND, with an on-road price of approximately 800 million VND. This positioning places it between the existing Sealion 6 and the Seal 5 sedan. The model is noted for its dimensions, which are comparable to C-segment SUVs like the Mazda CX-5, despite its anticipated price point closer to the B-segment.

In the Thai market, where pricing references were used for these estimates, the Sealion 5 DM-i is sold in Dynamic and Premium versions. The vehicle features LED headlights, 18-inch multi-spoke wheels, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support.
