BYD targets battery storage to lower electricity costs in Italy

BYD announced plans to deploy battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Italy as a means to reduce electricity costs and support its Flash Charge ultra‑fast charging network. Executive Vice President Stella Li made the remarks at the unveiling of the Flash Charge technology at Barchetti dealership in Bologna, the first European site to host the system. The storage units, combined with photovoltaic installations, will allow energy to be stored and used to ease grid load and optimise charging costs. BYD intends to work with companies interested in purchasing its storage technology to help lower their energy expenses.
