BYD to install 3,000 ultra‑fast EV charging stations in Europe by 2027

Chinese electric‑vehicle manufacturer BYD plans to deploy 6,000 ultra‑fast charging stations outside China before the end of March 2027. About half of the sites – roughly 3,000 – will be built in Europe, with another 2,000 slated for the Americas and 1,000 for the Asia‑Pacific region.

The new stations will use BYD’s next‑generation fast‑charging technology, capable of adding more than 900 km of range in under 10 minutes. BYD already operates more than 7,000 fast chargers domestically and targets 20,000 by the end of the year. The expansion supports its rapid overseas sales growth, which reached 471,000 vehicles in the first half of 2026, an 82.5 % increase year‑on‑year.

Analysts view the rollout as a response to rising global EV demand and shifting energy markets, while BYD also recently unveiled its Denza Z sports coupe at the Goodwood Festival of Speed to compete in the European market.
