BYD to ship record 6,068 EVs to UAE's Khor Fakkan Port

Khor Fakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates is set to receive a record shipment of 6,068 BYD electric vehicles. The shipment is being transported by the Changsha, an LNG dual-fuel car carrier owned by BYD.

This delivery marks the launch of a direct roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) route between Xiaomo International Logistics Port in Shenzhen, China, and Khor Fakkan. By utilizing the port's location on the Gulf of Oman, the new route allows vessels to bypass the Strait of Hormuz, potentially reducing delivery times to the Middle East by three to five days.

The shipment includes 3,725 Fangchengbao Titanium 7 SUVs, representing the first export batch of this model. The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, which manages the port, has previously announced plans to expand capacity to five million TEUs.
