BYD updates electric vehicle lineup with new models and pricing

BYD is expanding its electric vehicle presence through several strategic updates and market maneuvers. In Brazil, the company has begun distributing the 2027 Dolphin Mini line. This updated version features a new metallic grey color, a redesigned rear spoiler, and a switch from Hankook to wider Pirelli tires to improve driving dynamics and aftermarket availability. The top-tier GS version is available for approximately R$ 119,990, offering a range of up to 280 km.

To combat rising competition from brands like Geely and GAC, BYD has also implemented aggressive pricing strategies for the standard Dolphin model in Brazil, offering discounts of up to R$ 20,000 to maintain market share.

On a global scale, the second generation of the Seagull (known as the Dolphin Mini in some markets) is undergoing significant changes, including a 42.5 cm increase in length and the introduction of LiDAR technology for advanced driver assistance. In the European market, the Dolphin Surf has received updates including Google-integrated infotainment systems and a five-seat configuration option.
