BYD Yangwang U7 retains 98.7% battery capacity after 30,000 km test
BYD has completed an intensive endurance test of its Yangwang U7 luxury electric sedan, demonstrating the durability of its new Blade Battery 2.0 technology. The test was conducted in Nanning, China, under demanding environmental conditions, including average temperatures exceeding 36°C and humidity levels reaching 80%.
Over a period of approximately nine days (8 days, 19 hours, and 58 minutes), the production vehicle covered 30,000 kilometers. During this time, the car underwent more than 350 ultra-fast flash charging cycles. Despite the high-intensity usage and speeds reaching up to 240 km/h, the battery capacity decreased by only 1.3%, retaining 98.7% of its original capacity.
This testing comes as China prepares to implement stricter reliability requirements for new energy vehicles (NEVs) starting in 2027, which will mandate at least 30,000 km of reliability testing for fully electric and plug-in hybrid models.
