BYD Yangwang U8L luxury SUV unveiled

BYD has unveiled the Yangwang U8L, a luxury four-seater SUV designed to compete with high-end models such as the Mercedes-Maybach GLS. The vehicle, known as the Snowcrest edition, features a silver exterior accented with gold details, including a real gold emblem.

The SUV is powered by an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) system, utilizing a 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine acting as a generator to charge a 56.58 kWh Blade battery. Equipped with four electric motors, the vehicle produces a total output of 1,180 horsepower and 1,280 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.6 seconds and a combined range of 1,000 km.

Interior features include independent second-row seats, a large center console with a touchscreen and integrated refrigerator, and premium leather upholstery. The U8L measures 5,400 mm in length, making it slightly longer than a standard Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle also utilizes a Disus-P hydraulic suspension system and carbon-ceramic brakes.
