Bydgoszcz Completes New Asphalt Bike Roads

On 31 July, the activist group Bydgoska Masa Krytyczna tested newly built asphalt bike lanes in the Fordon district and a footbridge along ul. Fordońska. The routes connect Bydgoszcz with neighbouring gminas, extending along ul. Pelplińska, Wyzwolenia and Sudecka, and include lighting, drainage works and the planting of 138 oak trees.

Mayor Rafał Bruski highlighted the project as part of the city’s sustainable‑transport strategy. The inaugural ride was attended by City Council Chair Monika Matowska, Deputy Mayor Łukasz Krupa, Starosta Piotr Kozłowski and the mayors of Osielsko (Janusz Jedliński) and Dobrcz (Rafał Modlisz). The authorities said the new network will improve cycling links across the Bydgoszcz metropolitan area and pave the way for further bike‑road investments.
