Bydgoszcz named Poland's most driver-friendly city

Bydgoszcz has been named the most driver-friendly city in Poland for the second consecutive year according to the “Driver Friendly Cities Ranking 2026,” produced by Oponeo and Yanosik. In the category of cities with over 300,000 residents, Bydgoszcz secured first place, followed by Lublin in second.

Szczecin returned to the podium in third place, slightly ahead of Warsaw and Kraków. Szczecin was noted for its relatively low collision rate and developed electric vehicle infrastructure, though it faced higher costs regarding car maintenance and insurance.

The ranking evaluated 19 major Polish cities across seven key areas. While Bydgoszcz scored highly due to low parking fees in the Paid Parking Zone (SPP) and Park&Ride availability, some local analysis suggests discrepancies between official municipal data used for the ranking and the practical effectiveness of local infrastructure.
