Bydgoszcz reopens commercial spaces at Plac Wolności

In Bydgoszcz, the first of new graphite commercial pavilions has opened at Plac Wolności, marking the return of local commerce to the area after a three-year and four-month hiatus caused by city center reconstruction. The first business to occupy the space is a flower shop owned by Karolina, who previously operated in the location before the redevelopment began.

The new pavilions feature modern amenities such as glass walls, air conditioning, and shutters. Designed by Sylwia Młynek from the Bydgoszcz University of Technology, the architecture incorporates neo-Gothic elements, including envelope-shaped roofs with decorative domes, to maintain aesthetic consistency with the nearby St. Peter and Paul Church. While the first shop is operational, other tenants are still in the process of equipping their stalls, and some roadwork near the Gdańska Street intersection continues.
