BYD's Denza brand to launch smart driving chip in 2027 as it expands into European markets

BYD unveiled its Xuanji A3 smart‑driving chip, the first Chinese 4nm autonomous‑driving processor delivering over 700 TOPS per chip and supporting Level 3 and Level 4 functions. The company plans to equip a new Denza‑branded production vehicle with the in‑house chip for the first time in 2027, marking a major step in BYD’s vertical integration of semiconductor and vehicle technologies.

Separately, BYD promoted its premium Denza marque as a global brand, unveiling two flagship models – the Z9GT and the D9 DM‑i – that will be sold in more than 30 European countries by the end of 2026. The models feature up to 1,500 kW fast‑charging, dual‑motor rear steering, augmented‑reality head‑up displays and other high‑tech amenities. Executive vice‑president Stella Li emphasized the brand’s philosophy, stating, “Technology Drives Elegance, this is the definition of premium for Denza.”

Both initiatives underscore BYD’s strategy to combine advanced AI‑driven driving hardware with a premium, technology‑focused vehicle lineup as it pushes into international markets.
