Büyükada horses relocated to Daday horse farms and citizens
Fifty-one horses previously used in tourist carriages on Büyükada have been relocated to the Daday district in Kastamonu. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) had banned the use of these horses due to concerns regarding mistreatment.
Following a cooperation between the IBB and the Daday Municipality, the animals were transferred to the Anatolian region. Of the 51 horses, 16 were assigned to four horse farms in Daday through a lottery system. The remaining 35 horses were distributed to local citizens to be used for various activities and tasks.
