Byron Buxton Returns to Minnesota Twins After Hip Injury

All-Star outfielder Byron Buxton was activated from the 10‑day injured list after missing nine games with a right hip strain. The Minnesota Twins brought him back for the series against the Cleveland Guardians, where he entered the lineup with a .271 average, 25 home runs (fourth in the AL), 45 RBIs and seven stolen bases.

Buxton’s return came just after the All‑Star break; the Twins went 5‑4 while he was sidelined. To make room on the roster, the club optioned infielder Tristan Gray to Triple‑A St. Paul. Manager Derek Shelton said the extra recovery time was intended to protect Buxton for the final stretch of the season.
