Byron Donalds advocates for Bitcoin reserves and opposes Fed CBDC

Florida Congressman Byron Donalds has expressed support for the establishment of government-held Bitcoin reserves, suggesting that digital assets could serve as a strategic store of value similar to gold or foreign-currency reserves held by central banks.

In addition to supporting federal reserves, Donalds proposed the creation of a Bitcoin reserve at the state level in Florida. He also voiced strong opposition to the Federal Reserve issuing a central bank digital currency (CBDC), expressing skepticism regarding the ability of federal regulators to keep pace with rapidly evolving financial markets.

Donalds warned that inadequate regulatory frameworks for cryptocurrency could drive financial innovation and economic growth overseas. His comments reflect a growing legislative interest in defining the relationship between Washington and digital assets.
