Byron Donalds discusses Florida campaign on Stephen A. Smith program

Florida Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Byron Donalds recently appeared on Stephen A. Smith’s “Straight Shooter” program to discuss his campaign platform. Donalds, who is seeking to succeed term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis, emphasized issues of affordability, including rising property taxes, homeowners insurance costs, and housing prices.

During the interview, Smith praised Donalds, stating the Representative is “the real deal” and noting his ability to debate effectively. Smith remarked that Donalds is a figure who could potentially sway his own political leanings.

A Donalds campaign official confirmed the two are friends and noted that the campaign is building a broad coalition by focusing on public safety and economic pressures. Donalds, who has received an endorsement from Donald Trump, leads recent Republican primary polls with 49% support, maintaining a significant margin over challenger Lt. Gov. Jay Collins ahead of the August 18 primary.
