Byron Donalds reduces Trump references on Florida campaign website

Florida Republican gubernatorial candidate Byron Donalds has updated his campaign website to reduce prominent references to President Donald Trump. The changes include removing a headline describing him as a ‘Trump-Endorsed Proven Conservative Fighter,’ deleting a photo of Donalds with the president, and de-emphasizing the Trump endorsement among a list of other Republican figures.

Donalds stated that the website adjustments, which have been in progress for approximately two months, are intended to focus on key policy themes such as affordability, insurance costs, and government transparency. He maintained that he remains proud of the president’s endorsement and views the Trump agenda as a ‘common-sense agenda’ centered on law and order and border security.

In a separate development in the Florida race, Florida A&M University announced the cancellation of a scheduled televised debate between Donalds and Democratic nominee David Jolly. The cancellation follows statements from Jolly, who declined to debate Donalds, and subsequent criticism from Donalds regarding Jolly’s transparency with voters.
