byron launches community library project in Bucharest

The musical group byron has launched 'Biblioteca byron', a community-focused library project in Bucharest designed to bring literature closer to young people. Hosted and managed by The Youth (Centrul Național al Ecosistemului de Tineret) on Christian Tell Street, the library serves as a space for reading, studying, and socializing.

The initiative grew from a book club started by Dan Byron in 2024, which has since held 18 editions at various festivals, including TIFF and Electric Castle. A notable milestone included a 2025 session discussing the novel 'Theodoros' with author Mircea Cărtărescu.

The library is stocked through donations from community members and several publishing houses, including Humanitas, Trei, Publica, ART, Cartier, Litera, Nemira, and Curtea Veche. Additionally, Cărturești has partnered with the project, providing over 400 new volumes, furniture, and decor to create a reader-friendly environment.
