ByteDance integrates AI short drama platform Xiaoyunque into Jimeng

ByteDance has completed a business integration within its CapCut (Jianying) team, merging the AI short drama creation platform Xiaoyunque into the intelligent creation platform Jimeng. While the two products will maintain independent entry points, Jimeng has integrated Xiaoyunque’s short drama capabilities to create a more comprehensive content creation ecosystem.

As part of this transition, Jimeng has launched a “Short Drama Studio” feature. This tool provides a one-stop workflow for creators, encompassing script organization, character and scene management, storyboard generation, and video production. The studio utilizes the proprietary DreamScript model, which is specifically optimized for short drama scenarios, offering features such as script diagnosis and automated asset recognition for characters, props, and settings.

Industry analysts suggest the consolidation aims to focus resources and address limited growth in individual user bases. By combining Xiaoyunque’s specialized short drama agents with Jimeng’s advanced Seedance models and professional editing tools, ByteDance seeks to provide a unified platform for both casual and professional creators to manage the entire process from concept to final video.
