ByteDance launches Doubao AI input method with full platform support

ByteDance has released the full version of its Doubao Input Method, achieving cross-platform support across iOS, Android, HarmonyOS, Windows, and macOS. The software integrates the Doubao large language model to enhance typing and voice recognition capabilities.

A primary feature is the AI-driven voice recognition, which utilizes the Seed-ASR model. This technology allows for high accuracy in Mandarin, English, Cantonese, and mixed-language inputs. Unlike traditional tools, it performs intelligent text organization by filtering filler words like “um” or “ah” and restructuring fragmented speech into coherent sentences. The update also introduces an offline voice mode and a “whisper” mode for quiet environments.

Additional features include AI-powered predictive text, context-aware suggestions for professional terms or emojis, and cross-device synchronization for personal dictionaries and content transfers. The interface is designed to be minimalist and free of advertisements.
