Bytom to provide free microchipping for resident pets

The city of Bytom has approved a program to provide free microchipping for pets belonging to its residents. Previously, this service was primarily available for cats and dogs entering the local shelter, provided there were no medical contraindications.

To implement this initiative, the city has allocated 35,000 PLN for the year 2026. The microchipping process and the registration of animal data into the International Safe Animal Database will be conducted by contracted veterinary clinics or veterinarians. The municipal office intends to provide ongoing information regarding the specific locations where residents can access these free services.
