BYU athletics secure wins in volleyball and soccer

Brigham Young University (BYU) secured victories in both women's volleyball and women's soccer home competitions.

In women's volleyball, No. 24 BYU swept Eastern Illinois in their first-ever meeting with set scores of 25-14, 25-18, and 25-22. Elli Mortensen led the Cougars with 12 kills and a career-high four aces.

In women's soccer, No. 14 BYU defeated Colorado State 2-1. Mattyn Summers-Oviatt opened the scoring in the 38th minute, followed by an Emma Hamberlin goal in the 52nd minute. Although Hadley Delaney scored for the Rams in the 56th minute, BYU maintained the lead through the end of the match.
